Hey everybody! Paul here. I'm not much of a bio writer so this will be a quick run down of my musical career so far. I've been playing guitar for about 20 years. I took lessons for about 8 months and then taught myself after that. After about 10 years of just noodling around I really wanted to get into a band but guitar players at the time were a dime a dozen. Plenty of requests for bass players though. So I got the bass player of a band that friends of mine were in to teach me to play bass. That band is Sky Cries Mary. The worst thing a bass player can do is approach the instrument as a guitar player would. The style of play is VERY different! And since I was desperate to get into a band I figured lessons would be the quickest way to go. It worked. Six months after my first lesson I was the bass player in a band called Josette's eye. We played a lot of showes, almost finished an album and had a lot of fun. Then we broke up and I started this band with Mel Vinn. I also switched back to guitar. It took a long time to find the right drummer though and so during the long search I played bass in a band called Abney Park. All very different projects that have caused me to grow as a player.
